Easter and springtime bring the promise of renewal. This image was captured at the Hassayampa Nature Preserve in Wickenburg, Arizona. I was touched by the heart in the middle of the tree and thought it captured the spirit of the holiday.
Wishing you many blessings this Easter Sunday!
Sincerely,
Sheryl and Joe Brooks
There is a wonderful energy to the land, especially when you walk in the footsteps of an ancient people. We traveled as a family to northern Arizona to visit Montezuma’s Castle, an ancient cliff dwelling in Camp Verde that was first excavated back in 1933. We also visited Tuzigoot National Monument in Clarkdale, an ancient pueblo with buildings first dating back to 1000 AD. Both sets of ruins were believed to be inhabited by the Sinagua Indians. We must not only preserve and treasure the land that we have inherited, but also the history that is associated with it. The connection we all share with the earth and with those who have come and gone before us is a precious link that we must maintain.
Our lives may look very different today than those who previously walked the earth before us, but we share the same spirit and sense of community. I would like to offer a prayer of blessings in memory of the people that shared this space before me. I also offer up a prayer of protection and peace for all of us living today and for future generations.
Wishing you many blessings for the week ahead!
